Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 August 2026

This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what you can ask me to do about it. It covers therapywithnavah.com only. The confidentiality of therapy itself is governed separately by California law, HIPAA, and the informed-consent paperwork you receive before your first session. This page does not modify any of that.

Who is responsible

Navah Elyasian, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, 951 S. Ogden Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90036. You can reach me at Info@TherapyWithNavah.com or (310) 926-4001.

Getting in touch

If you get in touch by email, by telephone, or through a contact form on this site, I receive whatever you choose to send me: typically your name, an email address or phone number, and your message. I use it to reply to you and nothing else. It is not sold, rented, or shared for advertising, and it is not used to build a marketing list.

Please do not send clinical or sensitive personal information through this website or by email. Email is not a secure channel. Tell me how to reach you and, in a sentence or two, what you are looking for. That is enough to arrange a consultation. Anything detailed is better discussed by phone or in session, where it is properly protected.

If you contact me but do not become a client, I keep your message only as long as needed to respond, and no longer than 12 months. If you do become a client, your clinical record is governed by the separate retention rules that apply to therapy records, not by this policy.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how people find and use it: which pages are read, roughly where visitors are located, and which links are clicked. That tells me what is worth writing and where to advertise.

It is set up deliberately to limit what is collected:

Analytics does still record ordinary technical information: browser and device type, approximate location, the page you arrived from, and the pages you view.

This site does not show a cookie banner, and analytics cookies are set when you visit. If you would rather not be measured, use your browser’s private mode or its Do Not Track setting, or install Google’s opt-out add-on. Nothing collected here is sold or shared for advertising.

Advertising

I may run search ads so that people looking for a therapist can find this practice. Those ads are targeted by location and by what someone searches for, never by any inference about a person’s health. I do not build audiences based on health interests, and I do not use retargeting that would follow you around the internet after visiting a therapy website.

Cookies

Some cookies are necessary for the site to work and to keep it secure. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to recognize repeat visits, as described above. No advertising cookies are set. If you leave a comment or log in as an administrator, WordPress sets its own cookies for that purpose.

Who else can see this data

Google does not act as a HIPAA business associate for Analytics or Ads. That is precisely why the site is configured so that nothing capable of identifying you, or of revealing why you are here, ever reaches those services.

Your rights

If you live in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what personal information has been collected about you, to have it deleted, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. I do not sell or share personal information, and I do not use it to discriminate against anyone who exercises these rights.

To make a request, email Info@TherapyWithNavah.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. I will respond within 45 days. I may need to confirm your identity first, which for a website enquiry usually just means replying from the same email address you originally wrote from.

Requests about therapy records follow a different process, set by California law and HIPAA. Ask me directly and I will explain how.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so anything you send through it is encrypted in transit. No website can promise perfect security, which is the practical reason for the request above: keep anything clinical out of email and save it for a channel built to protect it.

Children

This website is intended for adults. I work with children and teenagers in my practice, but enquiries should come from a parent or legal guardian. I do not knowingly collect information from children through this site.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or how it is used, I will update the date at the top of this page.
